Crew aboard Ocean Scout after competing in a Tall Ships RaceAdventures Offshore offers a wide range of sailing opportunities each season, ranging from evening taster sessions to 7 day-plus international voyages and Tall Ships Races. Our sailing season normally extends from April to October, with day sails, weekend voyages & evening taster sails available in the spring and autumn months, and international trips during the summer period.

The programme shown is our overall plan for the season, but we keep it as flexible as possible and are always willing to discuss alterations to the programme to suit your requirements. Subject to boat and afterguard availability, alternative weekend or weekday cruise dates can be arranged, together with day or evening ‘taster’ sails. For Scout and youth groups, an offshore sailing trip provides a very different experience "under canvas" for a summer camp. And as an RYA Recognised Teaching Establishment, we are able to offer practical sailing courses.

SAILING PROGRAMME 2014

In 2014 Adventures Offshore, join us as we celebrate our 50th birthday - 50 years since we began taking young people offshore sailing from our base on the east coast.

We will be running our usual popular weekend programme at the start of the season between April and June, and again later towards the end of the season in September and October. There will also be the opportunity for local groups to participate in evening and day taster sails - please enquire for further information.

During May, one of our boats will also be spending some time based in Southampton, with a selection of voyages available in and around the Solent.

Our 2014 summer programme will offer exciting opportunities that are perfect for anyone looking to take their sailing to the next level, or requiring a residential project to complete their Duke or Edinburgh Gold or Queen’s Scout Awards. We intend to operate a varied and exciting programme to include the full Tall Ships Race programme and a series of week long voyages between the UK and Holland.

At the end of June, Ocean Scout will be setting sail for Harlingen in the Netherlands, where it will join the first Tall Ships Race to Fredrikstad in southern Norway. She will then participate in the cruise in company to Bergen, taking in some of the spectacular southern Norwegian fjords along the way. Our previous trips to Norway have proven extremely popular, and we expect this year to the same so make sure you book early! From Bergen, Ocean Scout will then take part in the second and final Tall Ships Race to Esbjerg in Denmark, before returning to the UK over 2 week long voyages via Enkhuisen.

Ocean Scout will then spend the last few weeks of the summer running week long voyages between the UK and Netherlands. Each 7 day, one way trip will run between Ipswich and Middelburg. Why not combine two consecutive voyages to create a unique 14 day experience including two North Sea crossings and exploration of Dutch waterways?

Meanwhile Offshore Scout will be spending some time “up north” and we have delivery/mile-builder trips available between Ipswich and Newcastle.
