The navigation station, showing some of our equipment including radar, chart plotter and radiosOur vessels sail thousands of miles every season and this inevitably leads to wear and tear. Boats, equipment and components can be expensive to purchase and maintain, but we are proud of our record in maintaining the vessels to a high standard to ensure safety, comfort, and compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Items such as sails, running rigging and safety equipment require regular replacement and servicing, whilst throughout the season we also encounter the need for unscheduled maintenance or replacement of equipment and components that have come to the end of their life. We also try to upgrade equipment where possible to keep up with the latest developments; for example, improvements in electronic navigation equipment or more reliable cookers.

This all comes at a significant financial cost and hence we are always looking for ways to obtain and install equipment in the most cost effective manner.
