Training

As an RYA recognised teaching establishment, Adventures Offshore is able to offer training towards a selection of practical yachting qualifications. We also operate a trainee mate scheme, which aims to develop suitable crew members into first mates and, ultimately, skippers.

Qualifications

At Adventures Offshore, we are able to offer training towards a range of sailing qualifications. On voyages of a suitable duration, we can provide training to the levels of Start Yachting and Competent Crew - a single weekend and 5 days/2 weekends respectively. From time to time we also run courses for the higher levels of sailing qualification - details can be obtained from the office.

Trainee mate scheme

Our volunteer skippers and mates are the key to our success and many of them have progressed upwards through the scheme, after first starting as crew and joining the trainee mate scheme. We are always on the lookout for suitable new candidates to develop into future afterguard, by offering support and training towards the necessary qualifications.
